SJD
I am looking for someone in the NW Surrey/NE Hants area to service my Weber DCOE40 carbs. Any recommendations gratefully received. Steve D Lotus 7 Series
Roger King
You can buy fairly comprehensive service kits for not too much money. They come with gaskets, seals, needle valves, filters, idle screws, return springs, etc, and are not too difficult to DIY. You only really need professional help if you have no mechanical knowledge or there are bigger problems, such as bearings needing replacing. SJD
Roger, Thanks for the advice, I have used the service kits in the past but I think this time, some of the drillings/passageways in the bodies of the carbs have become "gunged up". I don't have access to a high pressure air line or cleaning fluids or the experience to clean up these drillings etc. Hence the request for specialist advice. elie boone
SJD, you have high pressure aerosols like one shot specially for cleaning carbs. With brake clean you can come a long way to.
