reversing lights not covered by MoT?

Just been looking and there doesnt seem to be a MoT requirement for reversing lights, not even that they should work if fitted.

 

Cany anyone confirm this?

My '98 7 passed with no reversing light, just required a fog warning lamp on the offside.

No requirement for fog lights on cars not built with them either (can't remember the year these became compulsory), however, if fitted then they must work. I too got this rule confused on the reversing lights and spent ages last year trying to fix the reversing switch ... only to learn I didn't need to

I was told by my tester last year that they are not a requirement, and that they dont have to work even if fitted, which saved me 10 minutes unscrewing them.

Rear fog lights are obligatory on a vehicle first used on or after 01.04.86
