Superlight or not ?

Dear All,

 

Is there anyway of identifying the spec of the car as it left the factory ?

 

I am looking at purchasing a 1.6 Superlight and I have some reservations that it is what it says it is. Chassis number SDHRDKLR6V0020645.

 

I'd be grateful for any suggestions

The factory should be able to help.

If you ring the factory and ask for details of 20645 they will be able to give you the full spec as it was ordered .

Have you committed yourself yet? My road going, well-mannered 1996 Cosworth 'Superlight' 1.7 is now for sale on www.tnanet.com/caterham. Its got the lot.

You did not say what the outcome was.

 

My Superlight chasis number has SLR as the first letters and each SL has super light number, mine is 126.

 

What did the factory say?

They merely confirmed that it was a 1.6 Superlight, I did not enquire as to a specific superlight number, at this stage I wanted to double check it was what I am being told it was before proceeding with a purchase.
