andy_h Posted October 29, 2008 Share Posted October 29, 2008 Due to twins and now buying a Volvo XC90 to accomodate, my Skoda has to go ☹️ March 2005, 71k miles, 1.8 20v Turbo, petol, 180BHP, half leather, 6 cd changer, climate a/c, metalic black, tinted windows, removable tow ball, full Skoda service history (I spec'd it and had it from new). Huge boot for size of car. 20k miles between services. Tows great... well, my 7 on trailer, but I've not tried a horse box 😬 Great car as testified by so many Police forces using them as marked and un-marked Police cars. I too have an XC90 and a tribe to haul round and have to say the XC90 is fantastic, but the fuel costs 😳 By the way, we lease ours. Looked at cost of nearly new (i.e. loan) vs lease and there wasn't much in it, plus they pay the road tax and you get a new car after two years (if you renew the lease......though I'm thinking of a moped & trailer for the next 'bus'). So you have kids 3, 6 and 9 😳 😬..... oh this could end up being so scary.... My XC90 is one year old Lux, from Volvo dealer (can't afford a new one). Supprise to hear leasing is cheaper? Krismuss Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 And there's me thinking you we're copying me as my V70 is up for £4,200 too, see down the for sale threads (or are Engineers just paranoid). 😬 I remembered a recent thread about M&E works (fit-out costs) and you mentioned you worked for RHB & I commented that I'd met Mr.House in the past, or is my memory failing me? Are there many M&E chaps on BC? I've had my own company for just over 2 years now (in Croydon ) which has been good up till now (6 of us in tot.) though it's looking decidedly hairy for the foreseeable future ☹️ Oh, XC90 lease was more than buying/loan costs but not much more. And if I had the choice again as I will do next year I'll probably buy as I can't believe how much the used prices have come down. I know of one Architect based in London (Squire and Partners) but can't remember his BC name. Couple of QS's on here.
