Martin S. Posted October 19, 2008 Share Posted October 19, 2008 Well I've now made a proper assessment and it's no worse than thought. A slightly bent de-dion tube and very bent radius arm! Had a good look at the chassis and all looks straight and welds are all OK. The tube, both radius arms and rear bodywork are off the car and ready for the new parts to go on. I've asked Julie if she fancies a nice weekend up in Scotland and while we're there we may just stumble across a place that does carbon bodywork! ........oh and a belated thanks to all for the kind words/help and especially to Mark for helping me fix the throttle cable on saturday 😬...........I've now fitted a good strong throttle stop so I wont be able to use that excuse for not beating you again Class 4 Zetec Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mark Durrant Posted October 19, 2008 Share Posted October 19, 2008 Martin Pleased to hear the damage is as we thought but I would recommend that you change the De Dion ear given the impact it took and I would not be surprised if it is bent, try it against a straight edge. We are just having a domestic over the relative merits of carbon fibre versus the 'natural look' that did so well for Judith and Malcolm. Enjoy your trip to Scotland!
