Shad
I found this while clearing out my grandparents house on the weekend. It's in very very good condition, all of the pages are there and the cover is in excellent shape. It's for a mark 2 and is really quite interesting. It would be perfect for anyone that owns an Imp. Is it of any use to anyone here? Yours for a suitable donation to NTL Simon niknak.org
pburt
Hi Simon My first car was a '69 Hillman Super Imp (I think that would make it a Mk 2 but I can't remember). This handbook would be an interesting addition to my "cars I've owned" collection. How does £10 for NTL (plus I'll cover you're postage) sound? CanAm
Peter, Me too! Mine was a 1970 model. Head gasket went 1 week after the warranty expired. Fitted a re-con engine - ditto. Alan Teenage dreams, so hard to beat.
pburt
Cheers Simon. Have yet to check my emails. Will ping you a reply shortly. Alan, if anyone didn't have at least one head gasket failure with an Imp, they're either lying or proof that miracles do really happen!! I rebuilt the engine in mine and found that the head had already been skimmed at least once - I put 2 gaskets in to reduce the compression ratio and this did the trick. Brilliant little cars despite the problems. Handling significantly improved by a couple of bags of cement or similar in the front boot! I always lusted after a Sunbeam Stiletto (still do if truth be told - but I'd probably be disappointed). Peter Burt
