Alex Birtwisle
Fab! I had one of those on my train set when I were a young lad....(55 00? Fife and Forfar Yeomanry) Last time I saw a real one, was on a transporter waiting for a police escort on the M56. Weren't they restricted as to where they could be used due to their weight when they were in service? Mike Oxbiggar
*arrowup* Alex I suspect that the locomotive you observed on the M56 was actually a class 37, awaiting an escort to Bescot where it was to be overhauled for EW&S Rail. Many idiots mistake the class 37 for the class 55. Alex Birtwisle
Many idiots mistake the class 37 for the class 55. You'd have to be a real fool to mistake a 55 for a 37... the proportions of each are very different. Nope, it was definitely a Class 55. I have a feeling it could have been D9009 but I'm not 100% sure on that. It was in the old green/green BR livery. We're talking about the late 1990's or early 2000's and it was sitting at Junction 10 (Stretton Roundabout).
