TonyB Posted August 24, 2000 Share Posted August 24, 2000 Having just gone though all this pain restoring a Standard 10 axle for my 1963 Lotus S7, the Spitfire/GT6 are independant suspension so don't have a "back axle" as such. A lot of the individual mechanicals are compatible, bearings, brakes etc. The diff from Heralds and early spitfires is a direct replacement in the St10 axle casing though. I believe Caterham introduced the Marina axle as a replacement for the Ford Escort Mexico axle which itself was the replacement for the St 10 axle. I have a plate type LSD, for a Cat/GT6 is there any chance of it fitting a St 10 axle?? does anyone know of the differences or any other info??
