Doug phillips
It ends at the ecu (rover 1.8 VVC) and winds its way over to the pedal box and under the dash, so the other day I had a look as to where it went When sitting in the car, the wire goes to the bottom left hand side of the Stack dash 🤔. So my question is........................ what the hell is it for . Over to you. 😶🌫️ Joint Surrey AR and Su77on Se7ener

Mick Day
Most likely a shift light. However if you let us know what pin the wire is connected to on the ECU.......... This may help you locate the wire & it's purpose. HERE.
Doug phillips
Sorry i should of said that it is not connected to anything. It just ends at the ECU with a spade clip at the end. Joint Surrey AR and Su77on Se7ener

Doug phillips
Its a thin (about 2-3mm) cable and the colour is black. My car has never had shift lights fitted , well there are no hole's where one would be. Joint Surrey AR and Su77on Se7ener
rj
Could it be black with a yellow tracer? If so it was meant for oil temp, but I think it's only used on cars with conventional gauges.
