Matthew Willoughby
My sidelights and full beam work just fine but when the headlights are dipped I get nothing apart from the sidelights still. The fuse is fine. Any ideas? ASBO orange 1.6 VX
Peter T
Switch is buggered then. Are you also sure you have not blown both the low beam elements?
Peter T
Also check the Relay.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted September 18, 2008 Support Team Share Posted September 18, 2008 The dip switch is the most likely candidate. You can check by switching the connections at the back. If you then get dipped but no full beam then you have your answer. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing
mav
An ex-owner I know had this problem - both Dip beam filaments had gone at the same time!
Matthew Willoughby
When I swap the connections and have them the wrong way round I get neither dip or main beam I suppose it is possible that both dip filaments have gone together - last night was the first time I've switched the lights on for quite a while. Peter Carmichael
The high current to the headlights is passed via the switch on the dash (it is after the relay). This can fail (sometimes shows signs of getting very hot) and also the spade connectors can fall off. Check the back of the dip/full toggle switch and prepare to find some nasties. Matthew Willoughby
Ignore my last post. Having had another look it looks like the dip switch is broken as Shaun suggested ASBO orange 1.6 VX
sjmmarsh
It is unlikely the filaments blew simultaneously - more likely that one went and you didn't notice until the 2nd blew (and there is NO light). Steve
