FlymoFraser
I note from the regs that you are allowed to camp at Wiscombe but also note there is no water. Are there any facilities at all?
Englishmaninwales
Top paddock is a small grassed enclosure and the woods are nearby....what else do you want? (thats why I hate camping)
Simon.Rogers1
Plenty of loos there but thats it. There is a pub we tend to go to for a meal just down the road. But we may wuss out this year if the Met Office can not firm up a decent forecast 😔
FlymoFraser
Know what you mean Simon but it's been like that all year so I've given up looking at the forcasts, I just take wellys everywhere
RichardO
Looking at the finals I can't see anything about where to park trailers etc. It looks like we have to leave the venue from the top of the hill, so do support vehicles normally stay in the top paddock? SV Gary
I am planning to camp - first time this year. I will get there late on Friday -pitching in the dark - oh Joy. Which pub will you all be at? The lead dog always gets the best view.
Mark Durrant
Richard Most people leave their cars and trailers in the top paddock although there is limited space in the lower paddock. However, if you choose to park in the lower paddock you will not be able to leave the venue until the event is finished and the marshals plus all their equipment is off the hill. RichardO
Top of the hill it is then. But on a more important note, is the pub at the top or the bottom? R
Mark Durrant
IIRC the Pub is about 2 miles from the top paddock on the junction with the road that runs between Honiton and Sidmouth Mark D Comp Sec
Englishmaninwales
Plenty of trailer room at the bottom, hill usually cleared quickly while drivers share a beer at the beer tent.
Nigel Fox
I'm not sharing a beer, going to have a whole one to myself.
RichardO
Hmmm..... think I'll see what the weather's doing before I decide where I want the big metal umbrella then.... quick getaway versus staying dry?
Simon.Rogers1
By the way if your planning on eating at the pub. Last food order is 9pm. I have in the past ordered via the mobile whilst lost in the fog.
Englishmaninwales
Wont be leaving N Wales until atleast 1830 so we might miss the pub ☹️
RichardO
Malcolm, I note from the finals that your other half is dual driving my car OK, so probably a girl could drive it faster, but I don't want to prove that (Methinks a word with the organisers about numbering is needed?) Englishmaninwales
Richard, you are 73 , I'm 74 and Judith is 74A
RichardO
Ah so I don't have to share and I've even fitted the right numbers I was a bit concerned when Judith was 73A on the sheet they sent me! OTOH that means I'm now running just ahead of you 🙅🏻♂️ R
