Jeff S
Probably the wrong forum but. Ive previously downloaded the data from my dvr thingy onto my computer and then using windows movie maker trimmed and published it onto dvd or youtube without a problem. Now whenever i publish i get the lower half of the screen blank with a green band here Tried publishing some old files that ive successfully done before but get the same results so ive obviously changed something in movie maker itself rather than the settings for the dvr watsit. Any ideas please.... before i set about my laptop with something heavy or sharp Jeff
robmar
Jeff - when you save thye file in moviemaker what options do you choose? looking at the vid - it appears to have just squashed all the video up into the upper half of the screen Rob PS Stacie seemed to be going well :)
robmar
also which version of moviemaker, there are different ones from XP to Vista, and ISTR there are many more options for saving file size/bit rates in the Xp version rob
Jeff S
Rob, using Vista version which has very few options when saving... I think ive tried them all... even reset defaults... just seems odd that one minute its ok the next it goes green 🤔 Discovered it trying to put stacie on youtube (as above) and was going to post evidence of my excursion at curborough wich was missed for inclusion in the golden trowel awards 😬 Jeff

robmar
Jeff - what happens if you try and open and publish one of the sample vids? GT off noted, was that your first of the year? Rob
robmar
actually a quick search online reveals this is not an uncommon issue, to do with drivers and codecs (no surprise there....) try this to start with http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=105025 rob :)
