Emerald settings for pops and bangs...

Apologies - I keep on getting a Server 500 error (from Firefox 3) with no indication that the post has 'stuck'.

Mine "BANGS" rather than pops . . .accompanied by long spurts of flame . . . 😬

Β

Overun fuelling not disabled and nothing particularly special otherwise. Just lift off as normal from high revs and leave in gear . . .

Β

Seems to make normally slow outside-laners pull back in rather quicker as I arrive behind them, banging away, and looking like I'm on fire *cool*

Myles,

Β

I don't even begin to understand what it takes to get the pops and bangs, but here's what I discovered;

Β

A couple of data logs aimed at lower speeds and throttle openings revealed my map was extremely rich (-25s in Chris Good's PERL script) in load sites 0-2, Rpm 1000-4500. I leaned those sites out over a couple of sampling blats until the numbers were proper. The result is improved throttle response...along with POPS and BANGS (and FLAMES too) reminiscent of the days when the car ran on 45DCOE carburetors. No changes to the ignition table were made.

Β

I curious as to the effect. Theories anyone?
