swatson
I'm interested in locating OR compiling a list of parts that make up a Caterham 7, but particularly relating to the origins of the components. This is partly out of interest and also to help me scour the countries scrap yards for appropriate parts for my Live Axle/Xflow build. The larger items are fairly obvious, but what about things like distributers (ignition), coils etc i.e things like Live Axle Cars Component Manufacturer/Supplier Year Rear Axle tube Morris Ital 198? ... Brake cylinders Gearbox Ford - Sierra 19**.. Engine Ford - Escort... or whatever Distributor Ford - Fiesta Mk2 19** Can anyone help? Cheers Steve
Bradbys
For engines/gearboxes, take a look in the back of a magazine called Car & Car Conversions (or CCC) as it is now known. They usually advertise a few xflows and type 9 gearboxes.
ashaughnessy
If you can get a copy of Tony Weale's book on the seven, you can find most of this information in there. It's also well worth getting for other reasons. Can't remember what it's called off the top of my head, but try searching the archives for Tony Weale.
