Jon Layton
All that glitters......... It's not often that a breakers yard gets a Caterham 7 to dispose of. Especially a VHPD! Jon R400
Mark Piper
Absolute bargain - never raced or rallied, donutted thrashed or abused in any way by one of its previous owners - that'll be me then! Ironically he's selling it for what I paid for it back in 2002 - I sold it on in 2003 for £18k from memory to Jason Sutherland and an Irish dentist! Seriously, that car was the most well balanced 7 I have ever owned - an absolute joy. Only thing it doesn't have is dry sump. But it did have a bottom end and top end rebuild whilst I owned it - all by Minister and not in any way due to component failure.

TomB
Would it be exceptionally stupid to borrow £15k from a bank then put my 7 on the market, and then pay back two thirds of the loan when my car sold? 😳
FTH
Ironically he's selling it for what I paid for it back in 2002 Sounds like the bargain was yours then.
Martin S.
Would it be exceptionally stupid to borrow £15k from a bank then put my 7 on the market, and then pay back two thirds of the loan when my car sold? In the current climate yes. Values of all used cars seem to be dropping by the day....unless you're prepared to take the gamble of course

TomB
If a loan could be arranged so that you pay off a big chunk of it, then the outstanding balance is remeasured resulting in lower monthly payments, then that might just be do-able.
K16TOY
Looks like a great deal if you do not already have a 7 no doubt the seller is looking for a quick sale. Now would it be silly to buy, insure and store 2 7's while I try and sell the Superlight 😬 Nathan My Toy now with Aeroscreen here

mav
Tom, Don't forget that most loans have the interest front loaded...
TomB
So it would have to be a mortage extension for 'home improvements'. Then a big chunk could be pad off easily! Im in fantasy world really - far too sensible and skint to risk it! Pity!
K16TOY
The buying and insuring it is the easy bit the hard bit is trying to find a garage to store it. Nathan -----My Toy now with Aeroscreen here
