Catalytic Converter and K-series

Could anybody please clarify since when caterham has been fitting Catalytic Converter as standard on K-series car?

 

Was there at some point in history a diffrence between kit built (no cat?) and factory build (cat?)

Possibly the standard (one pipe through bodywork) option was always cat-equipped, my 1994 car certainly was and it's a 'component' build not a factory).

The 'race' exhaust was always an option.

Mandatory cat on all K-series (kit built or otherwise) from August '98. It came in with SVA.

 

Factory cars should have been cat'ed from Aug '95.
