David M
I was going to fit this to my seven but with the first nipper on the way its a stereotypical plan change Great Winter Project!!! This engine was built by Dave Andrews, rolling roaded by Dave Walker at 207bhp. The original build was a no expense spared upgrade with the following spec: - Scholar 1800 block - Accralite forged pistons - VHPD rods - VVC head fully ported - VVC solid cam conversion - Piper verniers - BP285H cams Its the combination of the Scholar block and Dave Andrews pedigree that give the value here. Tonycaterham
David, would you consider splitting? I'm interested in the block, pistons and rods. Regards Tony Tony L7 EVL
David M
Some more background DVA built the engine in August/September 2005 and the car did about 7k miles since then. It was done on a replacement head basis, using a VVC head and the Pipercross conversion kit. What I am offering includes the Caterham engine Sump, scholar block, VVC head (and all components within), distributor/coil or dual coils, pipercross verniers, flywheel, clutch&plate, no alternator or starter motor. Basically the full engine but without the ancillaries. The crank is standard but was probably re-balanced with the engine build. Tony, I would only consider splitting block from head if I was sure to get an equivalent amount for the full set. If you can team up with someone who is interested in the head and work out the split between you I'll happily split it that way. David M GF04RCE.... every day is a Caterham day!!!!
