Wrightpayne
After fitting the cage and lowered floor I find I'm still going to be close to the cage with a lid on (Std S type seats & 6'2" tall). The ideal solution would be to keep the runners / seat back of the S type and make a seat swab from expanding foam. Has anyone done this? Also what are the chances of getting a plastic seat tray from Oxted to mold the seat swab into ? (The S type has a rigid plastic base in which the foam seat swab sits then the leather/fabric is glued to it). It would make it easy interchanging them and support the expanding foam correctly. I could make it without the tray though there are a few tubes on the seat the foam could mold around. Whilst I like tillets, they are a bit of a squeeze Regards Ian

6speedmanual
Ian The chance of getting a seat tray from Oxted are probably quite good. I've always found them very helpful. Maybe worth calling in to discuss your one-off seating requirement as they may be able to adapt or custom build a cushion to your requirements. Maybe they would know the Famous Expanding Foam story????? Peter 6SpeedManual *tongue*There's no such thing as too much BHP per Ton 😬

stevefoster
I made a seat squab out of carrymat (camping bedroll). For bum it was single thickness and ramped up for thigh support. The thigh support part was just layer upon layer contact adhesived and cut to shape with a long bade to suit & all trimmed in black leatherette material. Worked very well and was durable / got me low in the car. It was easy to cut and tailor Now using a lowered / reclined Tillet that is as low / lower. Add lightness, says the man with a VX :-) My 2002/2003 racing pics here General pics (mostly of 7's and cars). here
Neil A
I've done this with the help of Pelico. Seat base cost around £20 from Oxted. Put the seat base in a survival bag, poored in the expanding foam and then sat on it and twenty minutes latter I had an 🙆🏻 shaped seat. Covered it in gaffa tape and it looked quite good. I positioned myself foward in the seat so my head was lower, and knees up in the dash, but the foam forms around you so you are supported. Just make sure you have a wee wee before you start 😬 Fellas, smoke me a kipper, I'll be blatting for breakfast.
