Removing silicon sealant from aluminium

Does anyone know how to remove silicon sealant from aluminium? When I had a heater in the car I stuck it down with silicon sealant (I think I went a bit OTT with it as well). Now the heater is removed and replaced with a blanking plate there is still remains of silicon sealant which I would like to remove.

best bet is to abrade it if it's cosmetic, just trub it with anything as harsh as won't damage the surrounding area. A plastic spatula will do. If youo can'tt gett at it, cut through it with cheesewire style. Strip out some automotive cable from its sheath and pull it back and forth. It cana be really hard work and the cable gets seriously hot so don't touch it aftterward.
