alicat
I looked at this car about 3 years ago. It was not in the best of condition and was well used - one of the rear wings was held on with Sikaflex! Hopefully, it has been sorted. The car has been through a few owners, and was painted this colour when built. IIRC it has been sold on here before. neilg
Presume from registration that it is a converted car as registration 2002 seems abit late for the original factory built Caterhams. No engine details i see, carb or injection? Looks nice though.
Gary Furst
Neilg - 2002 (52 Plate) could still be okay for a factory build, mine was built by Blackbird Motorsport from an official kit and was registered in March 02 and I know Doug built at least one after mine. The car pictured does not have any lights although it has been registered, the car is listed under race/trackday cars so is it may no longer be road legal or at least needs converting back. rgrigsby
Fairly sure I race against that car in SEMSEC in 2003, it's a pretty quick car in the right hands, we had a great battle in a 30minute race at Brands Hatch 😬 Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
jerrypike
rob but in early 2007 the blackbird engine went to holeshot racing for 1200 kit which takes it from 140 to 160+bhp (but i haven't seen the dyno run) jerry
Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted August 4, 2008 Leadership Team Share Posted August 4, 2008 saw and heard 😬 this car at CCM this lunchtime. Great sound ❗ at first I thought it was a Radical parked in the car park starting up. One of their guys was having fun(?) getting it off the line bodywork looked okish - wheels needed a lot TLC Rog
