ECR
My VDO gauge/sender threw a wobbly at Oulton yesterday and made me a spectator for the day. I need to replace it with a reliable mechanical type. Any suggestions ? 2.0 VX Ex Chairman Roger Edited by - ecr on 25 Jul 2008 09:44:
Tonycaterham
Roger, Stack have recently introduced capiliary gauges which although I have no experience of I would have thought were pretty good, though not cheap. Stack Glad to hear the problem was nothing too serious. My engine failed in a large cloud of smoke in the scond afternoon session, so supect it wll cost a little more than a new gauge, that's the last time I occupy garages 13/14 at Oulton! Mick Day
The Mocal range from www.thinkauto.com are popular & fit in with the existing black VDO instruments.
Shad
The Stack one is great, quite cheap too (around £35 I think). I had a line for it made up at Think. Piccy Simon niknak.org
rgrigsby
I've run a Racetech one in the past, it was fine for 3-4 years but did eventually start leaking near the gauge (very messy!). It was just a faulty gauge so replaceed it with an identical one and haven't had any problems since although I've changed my dash completly now so it's gone. Grubbster
There is a list of parts needed here, although I substituted the plastic capiliary tube for a braided and coated one. Dutchy if you want to see how it looks installed then I'm only in Gosport Please support Roger in his Indian Ocean rowing race! 4350 miles in about 100 days
