Stationary M25 Traveller
Just a thought - will the fuel filter trap water - like the diesel ones I am used to ? If so - have a look in there ? If not - ignore this suggestion. 7 related photos
6speedmanual
Hi Petrol fuel filters do not normally have a water trap function. If water in tank, need to empty out completely and leave exposed to air to dry out. If you empty the fuel into a bucket, you should be able to see if there are "globules" of water at the bottom. Defuel in situ by syphoning via the sender unit hole on top or removed from car by tipping out through filler neck. Will dry out best if pump and sender units removed. Good chance to have a look at pump pickuo and also reseal the gaskets for those which are prone to weep (or even major leaks). Good luck. Sounds like a real b****r of a problem you're having getting to the cause.
