Dave B
Hi I bought one a few weeks ago from my local motor factors. About £60, just take the old one along to be sure. Dave B
MusCat
The normal alternator is a 34Amp unit, Lucas LRA100 or equivalent - I think the Hella part number is CA17H. Those 2 numbers should be enough for any motor factor. Eurocar Parts have them for £30-£40 if I remember right. Buy 2 as you always need a spare - I'm on my 5th in 3 1/2 years. Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted July 16, 2008 Leadership Team Share Posted July 16, 2008 Marc I've got an alternator in the garage that came along with an xflow engine I fitted to my old car - a spare. I assume it works. Just had a look at it - Mintex. You can try it if you want - if it works say £15 to NTL I'm in Derby 0780 1670765 -if you want anymore info Rog
MarcNS
Thanks Rog, I may need to take you up on that offer, I am going to try a motor factors in Welwyn where I work to see if I can get a 40-45 amp one but as I am running short of time and need to be at Silverstone, I may collect yours as a back up plan. I am out on the road this Friday and could take in Derby on my way back. The car the Club built Vvrrrooom
