Cheap Porsche

I'm not a massive fan of porky pigs but the garage I have my car serviced with have a very good original looking E-reg 924 S2 (2.5 litre Porsche engine) car for sale on the QT. 126,000 miles and one owner prior to them. Garage owner says everything works too. Only slight downer is that the last owner scraped and dented the passenger side in a supermarket. However, it looks a relatively straight forward job and is not serious. Best bit is he wants £650.00 for it. Give him a ring on 01608 642656 (G&M Autos, Chipping Norton, Oxon).

You'd be surprised at how cheap any 924S is. With paintwork that car is going to owe you double the purchase price - bear that in mind when thinking about taking the plunge. and run a search on ebay for a couple of months.

But it could make a good track day toy.

 

Stripped out and lightened, with a few tweeks, the narrow bodied 924 with the 2.5 engine and the 50:50 weight distribution, would be a lot of fun.

 

The 2litre 924s used to run in the Colway race series and I was amazed how quick they were on track days.
