David Lynch
Any hints for using Manual rivet gun to fit Durable Dot bases. Head of my Stanley Rivet gun is too big a diameter so rivet head doesn't sink into base as it should. Tiny washers or nut temporarily between gun and rivet Ta, David I must remember that I'm in public
rj
I usually use a nut. Otherwise I turn out little brass spacers, but I tend to loose approximately one per rivet!
akakubi
I use Draper that seemed to work fine with the rivets. It comes with three interchangeable heads for different size rivets. The heads were narrow enough to fit the dot bases.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted June 26, 2008 Leadership Team Share Posted June 26, 2008 I usually use 1 or 2 M3 nuts over the rivet, works fine Just make sure you watch where the nuts disappear to when the rivet nail breaks Stu. JACK FLASH
Guys, It is possible to fit the bases - I think they are also called studs - for the fasteners with screws. I bought SS metal screws with fine thread and a small head and I drilled the holes in the body just a little bit too small for these srews. Afterwards you enlarge the holes a little bit with a tool, if necessary, and you can put in the screws. With this system it is very easy to take off the bases if you want, you do not have to use a drill and there are no left-overs from the rivets in the tubes when you drill them out. millsn
I used m3 washers between popper and gun. Tthey do have an annoying tendency to get permanently attached to the popper though. Here's hoping they don't rust
