Neil McIsaac
Can anybody recommend a quick release boss for my 1995 Road Sport. I got a quote of £120+ vat from Caterham, anyone seen anything cheaper or should I buy the genuine article.
SteveP
Buzz, Not sure of alternatives, but I can recommend the Racetech one (coupled with Momo wheel) supplied by Caterham - it is excellent SteveP
J.R.
Caterham one is not so expensive when you take into account that it comes with a new top steering column. If you buy any other one you have to cut the top off the existing column and weld the boss on. My last 7 had the racetech/caterham assembly which was great. When I built my current car I welded on a rally design Q/R boss which was the cheapest available, works fine but has a noticeable clearance on the splines which the Caterham one didnt. You pays your money.....
Neil McIsaac
Thanks for the advice I'll go with Caterham.
elie boone
Buzz, SPA is better than Racetech ( same price ). The difference is that the Spa has an O ring at the end witch take all the play away but you have to modify your existing collum because Caterham does not supply them. Nick M
Well there's no play in my Racetech quick release boss, even without an O ring....
SteveP
Nor mine... SteveP
Gareth Lewis
I think that James Whiting can supply the SPA one with a new steering column. He supplied mine a few years ago - no sign of any play yet! Gareth
