AJ Posted May 29, 2002 Share Posted May 29, 2002 Help,I have a 1990 shortcockpit live axle car fitted with a lotus twincam engine which is drysumped the problem i'm having is connecting the hose from the remote filter head to the pump as it fouls the steering column/radiator hose i've tried rotating the rack etc to no avail can anyone suggest a remedy to this problem. Peter T Posted May 30, 2002 Share Posted May 30, 2002 Yes i had the same problem! I resolved mine by shimming the nearside engine mounting bracket with washers until i had enough clearance. Be careful not to over do it , otherwise your bonnet will not fit! Also rotating the steering rack a little will help, the connectors i used are a 45 degree push fit from mocal. markc Posted May 30, 2002 Share Posted May 30, 2002 AJ If you are still having problems - I can send you some photo's Although i have a BDR its just as tight - I ended up putting washers under the engine mount and kept moving the rack and pipes.
