We have just entered the era of Health and Safety in The Sheds - you can only kick a man safely is when he is down.

 

 

There is a similarlity betwen Brown and several other succession PMs. Since WW2 I would suggest that Eden, Douglas-Home, Callaghan and Major are all very similar to Brown. They succeeded PMs who had dominated the country and their parties for a long period, they had spent a long time waiting for their opportunity and it arrived just as everything was turning against them.. Nothing wrong with them as people but seizing the wrong opportunity and probably at their best as a 2^nd in command.

Nah I kicked him when he was at the top. How the hell could he tax pensions (more or less his first move) if ever there was something that really hurt both the country and individuals long term it was that - unforgiveable 😔
