steering column broken!!!

Yesterday, on the way back from doing a trackday and two days of sprints at Pembrey, I had exactly the same failure *thumbdown* Luckily, about 3 miles away from the circuit on the way home, at low speed pulling out of a petrol station.

My upper steering column was the QR type, probably 8-9 years old. Again, the cutout for the clamp was not radiused. I would strongly suggest that people check to see if their cutout is radiused or not and if of a similar age, consider changing it. For the cost of the part, the consequences of this happening when at any sort of speed are not worth thinking about.

Michael.
