Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted June 2, 2008 Leadership Team Share Posted June 2, 2008 Yesterday, on the way back from doing a trackday and two days of sprints at Pembrey, I had exactly the same failure Luckily, about 3 miles away from the circuit on the way home, at low speed pulling out of a petrol station. My upper steering column was the QR type, probably 8-9 years old. Again, the cutout for the clamp was not radiused. I would strongly suggest that people check to see if their cutout is radiused or not and if of a similar age, consider changing it. For the cost of the part, the consequences of this happening when at any sort of speed are not worth thinking about. Michael.
DaveMorris
So that's three that we know about on Blatchat. 2 in the last couple of months. I agree with Michael - something definitely worth checking.
