wwestlake
I have just gone mad and stuffed a 1.8 in my previously 1.6 car ~(176 Bhp and 127lbft) but its never enough so this 1.8 has a VVC head an I am going distibutorless. An here in lies the trouble as I have a twin pack wasted spark coil but each of the coils (there are two) has three LT leads in the plug. Anyone one know which one is which before I wire it up and end up letting the smoke out. Smoke being and essential part to many electrical devices, once it has escaped it does not seem to work again. Many thanks Will Edited by - wwestlake on 28 May 2002 20:11:
Lawrence_Z
The coils are marked, but difficult to read + + -, ie positive positive negative all the 4 + take a +12v common coil 1 -ve is switched by the ecu to fire 1 and 4 plugs coil 2 -ve is switched by the ecu to fire 2 and 3 plugs the plug numbers are also marked, stamped on the metal inside little circles the connectors for the coils are identical to throttle pot connectors. Tarek
Will, Long shot this, but have you ever worked in Broomfield near Chelmsford? I just know someone with your name who did. Tarek
