Ed
I am currently in the process of converting my Astra GTE 20XE to 45 carbs. I have been looking at a few of the 20XE engined Caterhams and I've noticed some have the distributor positioned near the bulk head as oppossed to the head where it is originally and currently fitted on mine. Is this something to do with the engine management? I realise I will have to get a different distributor and coil pack to run carbs on my car, but I will do this without any fancy ECU. Blatman
Check the FAQ. You can post links, but not pictures.........
EFA
You can use the existing disti for carbs - you just ditch the cam sensor, all ign params being derived from the crank sensor. The cars with the remote coil pack are "low noise" later engines on GM std injection, or they are fitted with after market throttle bodies.
