Tonycaterham
Having looked in the Haynes Escort MKII manual, which I have just purchased, I now realise Ford fitted two types of axle to Escort MkII's, the Timken (with the removable diff carrier i.e diff could be removed with axle in situ) and the Salisbury (with removable diff cover). I have bought the Timken one, have I got the right axle???? An early response would be appreciated as Arch have got my axle for modification next week and I am about to spend £500 on a Tran-x LSD! STEVE GILBERT
Yep, you have the correct Axle. This is the one that was fitted to my L/A seven, Don't know where you are but Dave at Powerspeed has a Quaffe LSD for the timken axle, new on the floor of his workshop, call him he might not need it tel 01233-662225 Steve
Tonycaterham
Steve, Thanks for the response, I can now rest easy for the day. I may well give Dave a call next week, I live in North Yorkshire but travel around quite a bit, but Kent is a long way. Regards Tony
