Spec required

I would like some idea of the earliest year of car that would meet the following spec.

 

1; Dedion suspension, rear

 

2; Non live axle front end as mine, on a 1988. Want to go with wide track if poss.

 

3; Not cat for MOT (think that means visible smoke only) this is the important one.

 

 

Planning another Seven for the wife and trying to get the spec together. I think a later x flow would meet the requirements but the CAT issue is important as an engine change is on the cards. Or it could even be K 😳

Any pre August 1998 kit built car is exempt from emissions testing. For factory built car's it will depend on the engine as to whether a CAT is required. Any engine or car that is pre August 1992 will not need a CAT test but will need to pass a basic emissions test (CO here.

Many thanks, so really a pre 1992 Aug car is what I am looking for, that makes the suspension issues easier. A late x flow dedion sounds perfect for a zetec conversion, or go with a pre 92 K.

Don't forget subtle changes to suspension mounting points for 96 onwards.
