Chasecam Solid State Video Recorder & Bullet Cam (new )

I may have a Chasecam Racer Kit 1 for sale shortly.

This is all you need to record high quality video footage directly onto Compact Flash cards, so no moving parts.

Kit details are here and it basically includes a PDR100 solid state (CF Card) recorder, 520 line weatherproof bullet cam, brackets and cables.

In addition to the standard kit above there is also:

> A wired LANC remote for remote start / stop of recording

> A low-gain remote mic (the PDR has a mic built-in, but you may want to have a remote mic to get a different sound)

> A 4Gb CF card instead of the normally supplied 1Gb one.

The whole kit is brand new and never used, bargin at £550 *wink* SAVING OVER £200

So, any interest on here, before I ebay it? (If you're interested Blatmail me before posting on here, as I'll take the blatmails in order if there's more than one interested).

It's lighter than a camcorder. You're SAVING >£200. It's a 'safety' feature 😬

Ian,

Do you have any examples available of the quality of the output of this set up?

How much video do you get onto a 4Gb card? What is the power supply for this - internal or does it need to be wired in somehow to the loom of the car? finally, what format is the video stored on the card in? Is it as easy to extract and edit as the content from a mini DV camera set up?

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi Nick,

I haven't tried it but I understand you should get about 20 mins per Gb recording time, although you can set it to lower resolutions if you want more.

I think this page will answer the rest of your questions.

I have one of these.............

Q. How much video do you get onto a 4Gb card?

A. quite a bit

Q. What is the power supply for this?

A. internal batteries or 12V from the car

Q. What format is the video stored on the card in?

A. mpeg2

Q. Is it as easy to extract and edit as the content from a mini DV camera set up?

A. I'd say it's easier . . just slot it into a PC media card reader.
