Wrightpayne
Just doing the preparitory reading for the cambelt change tomorrow incl tensioner, verniers and water pump and the manual says to use loctite 405 on the water pump seal. Done a search on tinternet and can I find it NO. What is the recommendation to use on the rather large o-ring for the pump - silicone grease or an RTV silicone sealant? John Howe
If you are playing with an o-ring... silcone grease on any brand. It makes fitting simple and unlike normal grease, does not rot the rubber. If you are fitting vernier... I assume you have gauges to measure the lift? Wrightpayne
John, I was going to match the verniers to the exisiting pulleys and then visit Oily. I could do myself (I've timed in several 'a' series cams in minis) but its a bit manic at present as in the middle of 2 building extensions and baby no 2 due in August. Belt change is a necessity! Englishmaninwales
Ian According to the Rover K series manual you should use RTV Malcolm
