matthewgardner
That would save me some confusion next time I fill up. Would I have to put a 'D' on the back of the car?
matthewgardner
Steve, You say that you had 40litres, had this sat in cans for a while? i.e. over winter. If this is the case then this is what will have caused the problem, modern petrol does not old its octane rating over a long period of time. paul jacobs
>modern petrol does not old its octane rating over a long period >of time. That's all right, after it's been in a can over the winter, it's just right for my lawn mower then.biggrin.gif
Alex Wong1697456877
I had a can of petrol over a year old which I called into duty when the petrol crisis hit. It was like driving on 2 cylinders. The Lawn mower didn't seem to mind it. stevefoster
Mr Motts, With an XF I would be at the back of the grid the whole time and be rebuilding it every week instead of worrying about trivia like fuel quality and dry sump belts coming off..... VX and happy. After all the miles and all the smiles I have 16 bar compression across all cylinders.. WHY?
