Goblin SLR
I have a SLR (currently for sale ) which I'm going to book in for a MOT. The previous owner said it didn't need a CAT to pass the MOT. So before I book it in, is that true? It's 1998 Chassis number SDKRDCLRD****** So, it's factory built. Does that effect things? TIA Gareth
Graham King
I am sure it will need to pass an emissions test, I doubt it will be able to do that without a CAT. I thought it was pre 97 kit built cars that required a visible smoke only test. Graham. R7 GPK Superlight #
Rob Walker
Yes being factory built in 1998 means you require a cat to meet the MOT emissions test . If it had been purchased before June 1998 and self assembled then it would escape emissions testing. Having said all that in the real world it depends on where you present it for testing, some testers know the rules many don`t
Dave SL77
Looks like you need to borrow my CAT then.
