Horn problem on a new build

Can't see what the problem is with the horn on my new build.

I haven;t got a quick release wheel.

When I connect the purple wire from under the dashboard to the wire from the horn mechanism on the steering wheel, the horn sounds continously without me pressing the horn button.

In summary:

- I've pushed the contact ring into place over the steering column

- I've connected the pencil contact to the push botton mechanism. Should the pencil contact be in contact with the contact ring at all times?

- When I connect the wires up the horn sounds.

Any advice as to where to look for a solution to this?

As I recall the pencil contact shoud be in touch with the contact ring all the time. It sounds as though the problem is with the horn push. I know I've taken them apart, but can't remember how it's done.

OK - thanks for the advice. I've had a look at the horn push and it's quite difficult to get it apart. There are some 'spiked washers' (not sure of the correct term) holding it together which are quite hard to get off and I think if I did manage to get them off they'd need replacing in any case. I'll go to a DIY place to see if I can find what I'm looking for before wrecking the button, or else call Caterham for a replacement.
