fatcat
First rounds of the SEMSEC series at Lydden on Saturday, and I can't wait...got withdrawl symptoms over the winter. Should be good too - at least 10 Caterhams are out (and a few Westfields), covering pretty much every part of the range: Roadsport, SLR, Blackbird, R400, R500, CSR260. There's also single seaters, tintops, Jades, Radicals, etc. And Lydden is the midst of a major overhaul - for those who have been there before, you'd hardly recognise the paddock. All the old admin buildings have gone, just the scrute bay and the washroom block remain - the latter has been revamped. There's a new two-storey office block where the admin shacks used to be, which I guess will also substitute for the old control tower in due course. The main paddock and the terraces have been tarmac'd with power points all around, there's flagpoles & flags, there are even two grandstands on the paddock side of Hairy Hill ! The new management have been splashing the cash - good on 'em too. So if you've got nothing better to do, come for a blat down to Lydden and cheers us on. There's a sprint in the morning, qualifying & racing from around midday. Please bring some sunshine too...
bstark
Blimey - a 'modern' Lydden? Look forward to seeing that, although I always liked the 50's feel on a sunny day. Bob Stark Supersprinter
David Ward
See you on Saturday Nigel - as you say major withdrawal symptoms have been experienced! It will be a novelty not having to spend the first two out laps waiting to lose the gravel from my tyres 😬 V7 HPD
