Mattj
Well the old crossflow is bored out to 1700cc now, and today was the first drive since the rebuild. So off we go, round the corner from the end of our road and up to about 20mph...then WHAM! Front left wheel comes off! Father and son sput the 's' word in unison, man walking his dog looks bemused. Fortunately just a bit of scrape to the sump and bottom of the left shock, we managed to go home, get a jack, put the wheel back on and continue. Turns out yours truly aint too clever at remembering to do up wheel nuts properly after a big night out on the town. 'Sorry dad' just doesn't always cut it In brighter news the engine works! Didnt take it above 5000 but low end pick up is noticably smoother and more linear Are reliant robins allowed in class 2?! Regards, a somewhat red-faced Matt
Mark Durrant
Matt You have obviously been taking tips from one of the Saga boys who also competes in class 2 however, this was at Curborough not on the public road 😳

mikes
Don't you worry Mat- Iam told it happens to the best of them 😬 I am very worried that with all that new power you may put additional strain on other parts of the car (and if you do that again on your relationship with your sponsor!!) so I really think yoou should take it easy for at least the first half of the season!
