Mark Durrant
IIRC this originally sold a few weeks back for around £12,600. There was a thread about it but no information about the previous owner. Mark D Comp Sec

Sandy
I'm no expert but it doesnt look like £26k worth of damage? Surely you could re-build with a new chassis for alot less than was reputedly paid out on this? And if its been subject to such a large Insurance payout then why not Cat D recorded? simon clark
I phoned the guy when it was for sale a couple of weeks ago. No keys supplied by the insurance compay and therefore no opportunity to hear the engine run. I told the bloke this is quite important with a R500 and he suggested it wasn't as it was just a 1.8 rover engine..... Didn't fancy the trip to Doncaster only to be outbid by someone if it was any good. Also suspect there would be no history
