RiF
Don't suppose with all the power of Blatchat anyone knows if the output of a Borg Warner T5 Sierra Cosworth type gearbox is the same as a Type 9? Need to know for supplying a propshaft if the spline shaft is exactly the same (length, diameter, number of splines, etc.) Fro the internet I think it is interchangeable. Thanks RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON

Nigel Riches
Richard, have a look here, page down a bit and there are some dimensions for output shaft sizes and spline numbers, or the link below direct to Borg Warner may get you the info. www.bwauto.com Cheers Nigel. 1982. 5 speed, clamshells. Rob Walker
Richard, The T5 casing is too wide to fit the transmission tunnel on an S3 chassis without extensive modification. Rob
RiF
Thanks for all the replies I have received (many direct). Seems it is the same. Rob, it is for a Donkervoort but thanks for your concern 😬 RiF Driving one of the first Duratec 7, and building CA07BON for Henrietta 😬 😬 😬.for pictures of 7 and carbon andCA07BON
elie boone
Rob, it does fit even a live axle post 1996 chassis, but it's very thight and you need to cut a little bit from the box, not the chassis. I've tried it but never driven as it would hit the chassis under load but fysically it fits.
Rob Walker
EB, As I said its too big, you need at least 8mm of clearance around the box. Shame as its a very strong gearbox. Out of interest have you weighed the T5? Rob
