Reading through the build manual - a question.

 

The text referring to fitting the Watts linkage type anti roll bar refers to putting the smaller half of the ali clamp block between the chassis and the ARB, whereas the little line drawing clearly shows the larger block there and the smaller one on top.

 

Which way is right?

If I remember rightly, the small block goes on the bottom so that there is more space between the diff casing and the ARB. Or am I confusing it with something else?

I had to cut 3mm off the lower block, together with filing the casting line off the diff casing to get the 3 or 4mm clearance.

 

Use the smaller block to start, and reduce it as a better way of achieving the clearance.

Just wish i had read sufficiently or it had been pointed out eralier in the manual so i could have done a neat job on the Diff rather than whilst fitted under the car with varrious chassis members in the way!!!

Another trick is to countersink the holes in the smaller block to fit over the captive threads and "lower" the arb. I agree it would be easier the mod the dif before it's in place.

Thanks lads - I'm gradually making notes like this in my build manual to try and reduce these time consuming "lack of experience" things!
