I.Mupferit
Phil, No I didn't have alternator probs. but removed it to give better access to the bottom chassis rail that was showing a bit of rust. I wouldn't have said the proximity of the primaries was too much of an issue here, indeed, it was much nearer on the X/Flow. The starter motor is much more of a problem in that respect which is why I shielded that on my car. Having read all the foregoing, it certainly sounds to me more like a problem with the alternator itself rather than anything to do with the Zetec installation per se. I would plump for an alternator out test by an auto-electricians. Let me know if I can help. Brent
STEVE GILBERT
To get the alternator off my Zetec is easy if you take off the water pump pully, the belt wont come off otherwise.
I.Mupferit
Steve, Mine came out ok without removing the water pump pulley. Maybe the drive belt type is different.
Big Brother
Phil, If Pam A is going, maybe I'll have to leave my red leotard and blond wig at home. Damm! Was looking forward to wearing them as well! I.Mupferit
Steve, Just go with the silicon implants, it'll probably be too cold for the leotard anyhow and the wig won't survive the slipstream, due to the aeroscreen. Trust me, you will look just fine! Have a good day Baywatching. Brent teeth.gif Edited by - brent chiswick on 21 May 2002 23:14:
