Manx Classic 2008

Recommended Posts

I can now confirm that I have been successful in obtaining an invite to this years Manx Classic to be held on 17-19 April.

The three National B hillclimbs run by the Manx Motor Racing Club are as follows:

Thursday 17th April – Bray Hill

Friday 18th April – The Sloc

Saturday 19th April – Lhergy Frissell

Entry fees are £100 per event or £260 if you enter all three. In addition, there is a £10 membership to join the Manx Motor Racing Club. There are a number of good value travel and accommodation packages available with Steam Packet Holidays for which I have the details.

So if your interested in receiving information on the event please post your interest on this thread and send an email to mark (dot) durrant (at) lotus7club (dot) com. This event is open to all members of the Lotus 7 Club.

Thanks Mark.

I have put it in the diary and booked the holiday. Now all I have to do is try to remember what I have to do next.......

I am sure I have seen some good deals in the Saga Holidays brochure!

I doubt if Kate will make it (not sure I can afford her entrance fee as well) but I will check with her.

There is info here on it

Have a bit of trouble with the linky by any chance Dave 😬 No access to U tube at work will have a look tonight *thumbup*

Shaun - Julie's coming along as well (although may not drive), will Gill be partaking?

As we've never been to the IOM we may stay on for an extra day or two.

Martin - Haven't made the final decision yet - we were discussing costs and days off required last night. If we go then I am sure Gill will compete as well.

Mark YHM back. Your first mail did arrive safe and sound - I just didn't pick it up until this morning.

Am I right in understanding that the first event is in the evening?

I take it we are in classes 7A or 7B (post 1983 Sports Libre and kit cars up to/over 2000cc)?

Not me guvnor - still only 1900 but I guess those Duratec boys are gonna be in the higher class.

You must be one of the few who's engine has shrunk over the winter 😬.

I have a question about dual drives as the supplementary regulations say:

Double entries are not permitted on the Bray Hill event, but will be considered for the events at The Sloc and Lhergy Frissell.
I couldn't work this out whether it refers to driving 2 cars which the previous regulation relates to or whether it referred to dual drives. Can anyone clarify this?
