Dry Sump Oil Pipes

Nifty

Recommended Posts

Lot One

Two hydraulic pipes made up to fit a Caterham dry sump with tower bellhousing tank installation and oil cooler (gold pump if it makes any difference)

One short pipe from scavenge to cooler and one long pipe from cooler to bellhousing tower

I had a complete set of pipes made up by an agricultural hydraulics specialist, modelled on the old braided steel pipes that came with my R400.

I then decided not to fit the oil cooler (firstly because I was advised that I wouldn't need it, which has proven correct, and secondly because the one I had wasn't the official Caterham one and so these pipes didn't fit it).

I fitted the bottom of the bellhousing to pump pipe, since that doesn't change but had to get a new pipe for scavenge to tower.

If like me you don't like the abrasive (and vicious when worn) steel braided pipes then these would fit the bill.

£25 + postage.

Lot Two

I also have the complete set of original steel braided pipes that came with the R400.

They are slightly worn where they bend or have had gentle abrasion, thus causing one or two sharp points. They are perfectly serviceable and would be fine for a track car ... the only reason I didn't use them was because I didn't want to spend all that money on the engine transplant and have scruffy looking pipes because I'd wrapped them in tape in places .. and of course I could get some heavy duty rubber ones knocked up on the business *tongue*

£20 including postage 🤔

Keep off the straight and narrow *tongue* 😬
