Phil P
Hi all, Have just replaced my ageing facet with a weber pump from JW. have noticed that whereas my old facet used to spin very quickly (loudly!) until the fuel reached the carbs, at which point the pump could be heard to slow to a ticking - the new weber, though MUCH quieter, after 15 seconds with the pump on it just seems to run at the same fast speed without slowing after a time as the facet did. I haven't had time to run the car yet, but is this normal for the weber pump? I've changed the fuel lines at the back & added a prefilter so the system may have some air in it, would this effect it? Any help/ experiences greatly received, esp as JW is closed this week! Phil
Peter T
Phil, what you describe is correct, the weber pump does not change pitch when switched on, or when the car is at idle, it seems that the weber pumps can retain fuel pressure far easier and for longer than the Facet pumps. When i switch my pump on i almost have instant fuel pressure, and the pump bareley needs to prime the system, also weber pumps are far quieter than the facet units. Phil P
Peter, Thanks for confirming that - was a bit worried as it sounds so different to the facet but certainly is very much quieter. Regards Phil
