Mark Piper
Have you transposed the digits on the price Strongy? I'd say that the going rate for a private sale decent low mileage 129 shape is more like £12,000 than £21,000. If it were one of the Silver Arrow run-out editions, he might see that sort of money if he found someone with a burning desire to own one, but for just a few £'000 more one can buy (an admittedly) higher mileage 230 series SL500 from the trade.... The green colour may also not be popular. Stick it on Pistonheads too
strongy
😬 😬 No the price was correct. I don't know much about Mercs, but that was the advice given by his local dealer on price for a private sale. Peter T
Perhaps the private plate is valueing the car price higher??
SLR69
Strongy, I would agree with Mark that the price seems to be wrong, i.e. too high on this especially if he wants a quick sale. You only need to take a look on Pistonheads which always gives you a good idea of prices and see that there are many for sale such as: - 2001, 28,500 miles, £21,490. - 2000, 35,000 miles, £14,999. - 1998, 27,000 miles, £19,995. - 1996, 8,000 miles, £19,995. I cannot see anyone who is spending £21,000 buying a 1995 model if you can buy a 2001 model with 7,000 less miles. If he wants a quick sale then he could always put it on sale on eBay (as well as Pistonheads) with a reserve and you can then let the market decide the going price.
