SJD
Can anyone recommend a coil spring compressor that fits the small spacing of the spring coils and the closeness of the shock absorber? Any advice will be much appreciated. Steve D Series 2 1500 Cosworth
SV Gary
Try Halfords, they do them. The lead dog always gets the best view.
sopris
I'll be in Farnborough tomorrow morning and then again tomorrow afternoon; you're welcome to try my Draper compressor but would need to post it back to me.

CharlesElliott
I bought two before 'modifying' one to make it [small enough to] fit. A motorbike spring one might be the best bet. SJD
Thanks for the replies, the Halford's spring compressor is made by Laser Tools and is too big to fit between the spring coils, as are the Draper models. Charles has hit the nail on the head and his and Jackb's suggestion of a motor bike spring compressor sounds the way forward. Steve

John Vine
This will horrify some people, no doubt, but I found that a couple of heavy duty ratchet straps did the job perfectly. Just take care when you release the catch.... JV
