wheel wobble

Was the car parked in the garage all winter with its tyres in contact with the ground ?? , you may have "flat spots" ?? .

A friends fiesta had the same symptoms after his car was parked up for 5 months following an operation .

We pumped he tyres up to their maximum PSI and the effect was reduced - had to buy 4 new tyres to cure it .

Thanks for the tips, it could be a mixture of all of them as it was idle over the winter on its tyres, plus the wheels have not been balanced to the degree you are suggesting. Its interesting that you dont think its the trunions or shockers. On the motorway on the straight it will wobble, when under load ie.taking a long bend it will ease? Im grateful for your input.

is ther any wear in the steering rack is the rack bolted down/you will need to jack the front up and give the wheels a wobble with the sterring wheel held you can also check the bearing end float.

check the A frame bush at the rear that can give the rear end a wobble when they start to go.(no rear end jokes please)

To check the trunnion wear, jack her up enough to get a long

bar under the front wheel as a lever and lever the wheel up and down. Only by doing this can you see trunnion wear.

The bushes would have to be shot I think and you would detect it by waggling the wheels with her jacked up.
